Dr Rose K. Dhillon

General Dentist

Dr. Rose K. Dhillon is the Managing Partner and Lead Clinical Director at Lakewood Dental Centre, bringing 30 years of experience and a strong track record of excellence in oral health care.

“I feel a tremendous amount of responsibility to our patients. The trust they’ve placed in us drives me to uphold high standards in both quality and service,” says Dr. Dhillon.

She adds, “We’ve built a dedicated team at Lakewood Dental Centre and are truly honoured to be the caregiver of choice for so many families in Winnipeg and surrounding areas.”

A respected member of Winnipeg’s dental community, Dr. Dhillon received numerous awards and scholarships for academic excellence at the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Dentistry, where she was later invited to return as a clinical instructor in Periodontology at the University of Manitoba.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors and the Economics Committee of the Manitoba Dental Association, as well as the Board of the Winnipeg Dental Society. She has also contributed to the Ethics and Peer Review Committees of the MDA, helping shape key professional standards.

Committed to continuous learning, Dr. Dhillon participates in advanced dental case study clubs and has completed extensive clinical training across Canada and the U.S. She also holds a Fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, reflecting her dedication to delivering the highest quality care to her patients.
Dr Derek Milani

General Dentist

Dr. Derek Milani is a proud Winnipegger who grew up in the south end of the city. He completed his undergraduate education at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and the University of Manitoba. He later graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Manitoba. Upon graduation, Dr. Derek was awarded the University Gold Medal in Dentistry as well as several other academic awards.

After graduating, Dr. Derek completed a General Practice Residency at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre. During this residency, he gained valuable training and experience in treating medically compromised patients and patients with special needs and intellectual disabilities. In addition, this residency provided valuable oral surgery experience and certifications to administer oral, nitrous, and IV sedation.

Dr. Derek is passionate about providing patients with the comprehensive dental care that they deserve. He is experienced in helping those who have fear or anxiety related to coming to the dentist, and can provide multiple sedation options if required.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Derek enjoys spending time with his family and friends, including his fiancée, Raegan, and his dog, Gus. Some of his favourite activities include being outdoors on camping trips or hikes and cheering on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers!
Dr Doug McDermid

General Dentist

Dr. Doug McDermid graduated from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry in 1977 and hasn’t stopped learning since. He has completed advanced dentistry courses in dental implants at McGill University, studied aesthetics at the New York Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, studied occlusion and temporomandibular dysfunction with Clinical Research Associates, and completed courses in periodontal therapy.

So, it’s no surprise that Lakewood Dental Centre, a dental practice that Dr. McDermid established over 40 years ago with his wife, Cheri, continues to thrive with his expansive dentistry knowledge. The practice is a well-respected pillar of our community. By providing excellent dental care, he and Dr. Dhillon have realized their vision of contributing to the overall well-being and total health of patients of all ages.

When Dr. McDermid isn’t by his patients’ side at the dental chair, he spends his time remaining an active member of the Manitoba Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association, the International Association for Orthodontics, and the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain.
Dr Shauna Murray

General Dentist

Dr. Shauna Murray earned her DMD degree from the University of Manitoba. She was awarded the Robert Day Memorial Award as class president, recognizing her ability to support and assist classmates both academically and personally.

Dr. Murray finds fulfillment in improving her patients’ lives through a combination of dentistry and personal interactions. Known for her calm and attentive manner, Dr. Murray strives to create a comfortable environment for her patients while providing individualized and comprehensive dental care.

Originally from the UK, Dr. Murray moved to Canada in 2010 with her family and has enjoyed getting to know Manitoba. When she isn’t with patients, she’s passionate about music and enjoys playing the piano and guitar.
